More than 50 houses are set to fling open their doors for an annual art event. Brighton’s Winter Open Houses return this month and will see scores of artists showing of their work over a two-week period. The open houses, part of a festival dating back more than 40 years, will have a vast array of art on show as well as crafts from local artists.
Judy Stevens, director of the event, said: “Artists Open Houses connect artists and makers with an audience of art lovers, buyers and industry professionals – and is also fun to take part in, exhibiting with your friends in your own home. “December is a magical time in Brighton and Hove , with houses across the city opening their doors to welcome the public inside. “Visiting Open Houses is a great way to discover new arts and crafts from Sussex makers and meet members of the local creative community.
“Everyone is welcome to visit open houses in their local neighbourhood, as well as those further afield, and to support our fantastic range of artists and makers across the city and beyond.” More than 50 houses across Brighton , Hove, Portslade and other parts of the city will take part in the annual event showcasing art in artist’s homes and studios. Art on display this year includes wood carving, metalwork, glassblowing and an array of prints.
