Chichiri Museum , which shelters the country’s historical elements, buzzed with an Art Dream Night Market on Saturday night. The event was led by youthful visual artist Chimwemwe Luwanda. With lights spread all over, it was an event that gave patrons the perfect setting for a festive season.

There were stalls of food and drinks as well as shisha. There were also displays of paintings from the previous sip and paint outings organised by Luwanda. And while some felt there would be another sip and paint session, it was a different case altogether as patrons got all the fun in decorating a mural.



“This is well done by the organisers. This is creative and it feels like Christmas, with the beautiful lights at night,” Daniel Ngwira, who is a marketer and came with his family, said. It was a night full of life as people also got to sample paintings from some of the well-known visual artists in the country.

One of the visual artists even engaged inlive painting. There were also moments for dancing with DJ Zulu on the decks, who dished out both local and international songs before musician Mazani’s performance. The event, which went all the way to midnight, climaxed with Eli Njuchi’s act.

He raised the bar with songs such as ‘Tempolale’. “I am satisfied with the way things have transpired. I have invested a lot of money in this and the support I have got tonight has motivated me to do more,” Luwanda, who recently also engaged Institute of Malawi Marketers members in M.
