Reps. Brian Fitzpatrick of Pennsylvania and Mikie Sherrill of New Jersey announced Tuesday that their bipartisan legislation had passed the House of Representatives and would be sent to President Joe Biden for his signature.

The bill to honor King, the tennis Hall of Famer and activist, had already passed unanimously in the Senate. The humpback had just lunged at a school of fish presumably also being pursued by the seal.

A man accused of stalking UConn star Paige Bueckers is found with an engagement ring near airport Police reports say a man charged with stalking UConn basketball star Paige Bueckers was found with an engagement ring and lingerie when he was arrested near a Connecticut airport. Authorities say Robert Cole Parmalee posted statements on TikTok saying he loved Bueckers and wanted to marry her. Police also say some of Parmalee's social media posts and emails to UConn officials included threatening comments.

He was detained on $100,000 bail after being arraigned Monday at a courthouse in Rockville, Connecticut, on charges of stalking, harassment and breach of peace. Zimbabwe said Monday it would allow the killing of 200 elephants so that their meat can be distributed among needy communities, while in Namibia the killing of more than 700 wild animals is under way as part of a plan announced three weeks ago. Wildlife officials in Zimbabwe say some residents will be given permits to hunt the elephants and the rest will be killed by officials.

S. has seen an increase in the number of a certain kind of derailment related to the forces created when railcars push and pull against each other as freight trains have gotten longer. The National Academies of Sciences on Tuesday released a long-awaited report.

It says that regulators, Congress and the industry should reexamine the risks associated with long trains and make sure they are addressed. The report said railroads must take special care in the way they assemble long trains. That's especially the case with trains that have a mix of different types of cars.

Whitney Houston's epic 1994 performance in South Africa will hit theaters as a concert film LOS ANGELES (AP) — Whitney Houston’s epic concert in South Africa staged after President Nelson Mandela’s landmark election will be hitting theater screens this fall. Collaborators say Houston’s 1994 performance has been turned into a fully-remastered theatrical release, called “The Concert for a New South Africa (Durban).” Collaborators include Houston’s estate, Sony Music Entertainment and Trafalgar Releasing.

The limited theatrical screening will debut Oct. 23 and feature the late singer’s never-before-released show from Durban. The project will come ahead of a new live album “The Concert for a New South Africa (Durban),” which will be released Nov.

A New York woman is challenging Miss America, Miss World rules banning mothers from beauty pageants NEW YORK (AP) — A New York woman is challenging the longstanding rules of Miss America and Miss World that disqualify mothers from their beauty pageants. Danielle Hazel filed a complaint Monday with the city’s Commission on Human Rights seeking an end to the discriminatory requirements.

She said at a press conference in Central Park that she’s always dreamed of entering the competitions but was devastated to learn that she’s no longer eligible because she has a 6-year-old son. Spokespersons for the pageant organizations didn’t immediately comment. The human rights commission said it does not comment on open investigations.
