Since making his debut in Indian showbiz with Bigg Boss 17 , K-pop singer Aoora has been steadily working towards his goal of establishing himself in the music industry. Known for his captivating performances of popular Bollywood songs, Aoora is inching closer to his dreams with each step. He recently collaborated with Indian singer Sireesha Bhagavatula on the track Thi Thi Thara , a recreation of a Malayalam folk song.

Aoora shares, “I had always wanted to recreate a South Indian folk song, and that’s when I came across the Malayalam boat song, a popular Onam tune. Thi Thi Thara is very special to me; I dedicated almost eight months to it. Initially, I was told it was a celebration song, and once I understood the lyrics, it felt perfect for expressing my love for Indian culture and music.

My friend and music producer Fridayyy created the melody, and when famous Korean saxophonist Mellow Kitchen heard it, he came on board to collaborate with us. I also wanted a female voice to add a traditional and soulful touch, and when I heard Sireesha’s voice, I knew her voice matched the song beautifully, both in texture and tonality. The song is a beautiful blend of Kerala folk elements with modern pop sounds, reflecting my happiness for India and its rich culture.

I am thrilled that my dream of creating Indo-Korean collaborations is becoming a reality.” He adds, “My journey in Indian music began with Jimmy Jimmy Ajaa Ajaa (Disco Dancer), which was my first collaboration with an Indian label. Since then, I have released four Hindi K-pop songs, followed by an Assamese collaboration with Nilotpal Bohra.

Now, I’ve worked on a Malayalam song with Sireesha. I look forward to releasing more exciting collaborations that showcase the diverse colours of India.” Watch The Music Video Of The Latest Punjabi Song Mombattiye Sung By Diljit Dosanjh Reflecting on his love for Indian music, Aoora shares his appreciation for the diverse array of Indian music.

There are so many intriguing stories and styles from different regions and discovering them is truly amazing. I love the beats of Punjabi music, the beautiful sounds of Assam, the distinctive and powerful sounds of the South, and Bollywood music.

Each genre offers something unique and energising.”.
