Running through Sunday, the festival will continue to be held rain or shine and offers over 10 Irish bands, outdoor activities including cornhole, a playground, swimming pool and tetherball, along with food, drinks, and free admission. Bernadette Gavin-Palmieri, owner of Gavin’s Resort & Country Inn, said Gavinstock has enduring appeal. “We’ve been doing this for years and this is the first time we’re offering free admission to Gavinstock,” Gavin-Palmieri said.

“We really wanted to draw people’s attention to the resort, which boasts stunning views of nature—you can even hear some of the waterfalls.” Gavin-Palmieri also recounted stories that showcased the deep-rooted history and unwavering dedication of the community to the Gavinstock and the resort. “We have families who make it a tradition to attend this festival every year—it’s like clockwork for them,” she said.

‘Many guests have been staying with us for years, often hosting family reunions to keep their gatherings close to a special, somewhat hidden spot.” The dining room was bustling Friday afternoon with guests who arrived early, even though the festival was scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.

“People always want to get here early,” said Mairead Boylan, the resort’s pool bartender. “There’s nothing particularly luxurious about Gavin’s, but it has a homey feel, and I think that’s why people are drawn to the music, the legacy, and the warmth, regardless of where they’re from. I’ve noticed that guests who return find it increasingly entertaining each time.

” Donna Hood, a longtime attendee, shared her enthusiasm for the festival and how much she likes to come back every year. “I’ve been coming here for eight-ish years, and my family has joined in for just as long,” Hood said. “It’s a tradition we cherish.

I’ve already made plans to come back next year. The music, the food, and the overall experience make it a great time every time.”.
