A campsite on Anglesey has been named the best in the UK. The annual AA Caravan & Camping Awards have announced the top outdoor accommodation spots for the 2024-25 season. They said the winners offer the best of "scenic retreats and luxurious glamping", with a new Sustainable Park award showing a growing preference for eco-friendly and unique staycations among UK travellers.
The best campsite across the whole of the UK was Tyddyn Isaf Caravan Park on the island of Anglesey . Situated near Traeth Llugwy it was called a "memorable holiday destination". The Mount family, who have run the site for nearly 50 years, said: "Being awarded the title of AA Campsite of the Year 2024–25 honours the unwavering dedication of our family to Tyddyn Isaf Caravan Park over the past five decades, and acknowledges our ongoing commitment to providing exceptional experiences for our guests while promoting responsible tourism and sustainable practices.
"We are immensely proud to be acknowledged as the best in the industry and believe this accolade reflects positively on our dedication to quality, community, and environmental stewardship." An AA Inspector said this about the site: "This is a beautifully situated family park on rising ground adjacent to a sandy beach with magnificent views overlooking Lligwy Bay. A memorable holiday destination, it has been in the Mount family since 1975, with daughter Haley and husband Simon continuing the family tradition of excellent hospitality and service.
