Veteran actor Jon Voight is stepping in to help daughter Angelina Jolie amidst her bitter divorce battle with Brad Pitt . The actor has publicly called on Brad to bring an end to the ongoing 'nonsense' divorce battle, which is set to hit the eight-year mark. The 85-year-old, urged Pitt to prioritize the stability of the 6 children he shares with Jolie.

In an interview with Fox News Digital, Voight emphasized the need for peace between the estranged couple. "The kids need some stability. I love the kids, and I love my daughter.

And I want Brad to step up to do, you know, what he has to do. End this nonsense," Voight said. This comes just days after the court granted Shiloh to officially drop Pitt’s surname and go by the name ' Shiloh Nouvel Jolie '.

According to TMZ, the name change was granted without a formal hearing, as per official court documents. Pitt and Jolie, who split in 2016, have been embroiled in a lengthy divorce process, which includes a controversial legal battle over the ownership of Chateau Miraval , a vineyard in France. A source close to Pitt told Page Six that the lawsuit concerning the vineyard is intended to protect the inheritance of their children, explaining that selling the asset would significantly decrease their future benefits.

The relationship between Voight and Jolie has also seen its share of controversy over the years with the actress also choosing to drop her father's surname. Despite their differences, Voight recently expressed pride in Jolie and his granddaughter Vivienne after their success at the 2024 Tony Awards. The mother-daughter duo produced the musical ' The Outsiders ', which won four awards, including Best Musical.

"I'm very proud of Vivienne," Voight told TMZ. "I'm really proud of Angie because she really tries to encourage each of the kids to be what they want to be.".
