The Gia star, 49, graced the cover of the magazine's December issue , where she spoke about releasing her 'private pain', as she alluded to her split from ex husband Brad Pitt , 60. Jolie split from her film star husband after a disputed incident on a plane in 2016. In her interview she discussed how she used her upcoming role as opera singer Maria Callas in a new biopic to deal with the pain.
The cover —shot by photographer Dan Martensen — featured Jolie in a black Christian Dior dress, her somber expression and flowing brunette hair creating a melancholic image.
