Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs received a massive boost to their Super Bowl three-peat chances with the return of Harrison Butker and Marquise "Hollywood" Brown's impending arrival . On Saturday, the Chiefs activated Butker from the injured reserve, about a month after Kansas City revealed the kicker was undergoing arthroscopic surgery on his left knee. Butker missed four games as a result and is set to return against the Cleveland Browns after practicing in a limited fashion throughout the week.

With Butker set to return, the Chiefs also waived Matthew Wright in a corresponding move. Wright was Kansas City's latest kicker after Spencer Shrader, one of the kickers meant to fill in for Butker , was also injured after playing two games, leaving an opening for Wright. The wide receiver signed a one-year deal with the Chiefs on March 18 but has yet to play after sustaining a sternoclavicular injury during preseason. Brown was meant to bolster the Chiefs' receiving corps alongside Rashee Rice, but the two were injured before they could play together in the regular season. Rice suffered a knee injury but was forced to miss the rest of the season after it was deemed he would need surgery.
