Controversial internet influencer Andrew Tate , has been placed under house arrest in Romania 's capital for 30 days. The Bucharest Tribunal's decision follows a major investigation into allegations of human trafficking, including the exploitation of minors, and sex with a minor. Andrew Tate, known for his misogynistic views on social media, continues to claim that the accusations are part of a political conspiracy against him.

On Wednesday, Romanian prosecutors detained Tate, 37, his brother Tristan Tate , 36, and four others after police raided properties in Bucharest and nearby Ilfov county. While Andrew was placed under house arrest, Tristan was placed under judicial control, which typically involves restrictions on movement and regular reporting to the police. The Tate brothers, both former kickboxers and dual British-US citizens, are already awaiting trial in Romania in a separate human trafficking case.

The new case, being investigated by Romania’s anti-organized crime agency DIICOT, involves allegations of trafficking minors, forming a criminal group, money laundering, and other serious crimes. DIICOT claims the crimes took place between 2014 and 2024, with the Tates allegedly using the "loverboy" method to exploit 34 victims for online pornographic content. A spokesperson for the brothers stated that the judge's decision to deny the prosecution's request for their detention was due to their “exemplary behavior” in a previous case.

The Tates have denied all allegations, maintaining their innocence. Following the court ruling, Andrew Tate told reporters that the alleged victims in the new case have provided statements in his defense, calling the accusations a "set-up." This latest case adds to the Tate brothers' growing legal troubles.

They were initially arrested in December 2022 and held in police detention for three months before being moved to house arrest. Romanian authorities also seized luxury vehicles, cash, and other valuables during the recent raids..
