Grand Master Rameshbabu Praggnanandhaa has made India proud. The 18-year-old became only the second Indian, after Viswanathan Anand, to reach the final of the FIDE World Cup, held in Baku, Azerbaijan. He played against the world's number one, Magnus Carlsen.

Though Praggnanandhaa may have fallen short of becoming the youngest Chess World Cup champion, the Indian prodigy has captured the attention of the chess world with his remarkable skills. Tears of joy rolled down the face of her mother Nagalakshmi, as her son created history. Several photographs, which captured the emotional moments gained immense popularity on the internet.



In a widely circulated picture on social media, Nagalakshmi is seen smiling and admiring her son, who was giving an interview. Another snapshot spotted her with tears of joy. People lauded Nagalakshmi for being a strong pillar of support behind Praggnanandhaa.
