The Ngoni festival took place at Hora Heritage Centre in Mzimba District on August 3. In a special message delivered yesterday on behalf of the Zulu Royal family delegation, the Queen started with thanking President Lazarus Chakwera and First Lady Monica Chakwera for the warm reception accorded to her and members of her delegation.

She also extended a special word of appreciation to Ngoni King Inkosi ya Makhosi M’mbelwa V, his wife Nkomo and the Ngoni people for their warm embrace and kind hospitality. “The Zulu Royal family delegation is deeply appreciative of the hospitality and opportunity to exchange cultural experiences between our two nations. Once again, the Zulu Royal family extends its congratulations to His Majesty Inkosi ya Makhosi M’mbelwa V for completing a decade at the helm of the monarch.

We look forward to returning to your beautiful country,” the Queen wrote. Meanwhile, Mzimba Heritage Association Secretary General Kingsley Jere has said they are looking forward to more interactions with the Zulu Nation. “Welcoming the Zulu Royal family to Malawi was a very memorable experience to us and we will live to remember it.

These are our own cousins, our brothers and siste.
