The 53 year old presenter took time off in August following the death of her mother , who passed away just 12 weeks after being diagnosed with cancer. Zoe was expected to return on August 5, but other stars stepped in to fill her slot.

In a heartfelt tribute to her late mum on social media, Zoe wrote: "Thank you for teaching us how to love unconditionally, to always show courage and empathy, and how, even in the darkest of days, laughter is the greatest of gifts. We are bereft without you but will hold so tight to each other. Your grace and your smile that lit up every room you were in, will light the stars to guide us.

" According to the BBC's online schedule, Zoe is set to make her comeback on Monday, September 23, hosting the Maximum Music Monday show. The show's description reads: "Wake up and embrace the day with Zoe Ball and the team. Zoe keeps the tunes rolling on Maximum Music Monday.

" While Zoe took a break from the airwaves, Scott Mills and Gaby Roslin stepped into her shoes. Speaking about taking over her spot, Scott clearly addressed the radio listeners saying , "Do not freak out, you have not overslept, if you've just put us on this .
