Chinese electric vehicle (EV) brand Zeekr plans to quickly flesh out its local lineup, locking in a Tesla Model Y-sized SUV called the 7X. The brand, owned by China’s Geely, has confirmed the 7X will arrive here during 2025. Zeekr is pitching itself as a premium brand, and is launching this October with the X SUV.
The 009 people mover will follow in November. They’ll be sold through franchised dealerships, with the brand to have nine locations at launch. The 7X will slot in above the X SUV, and measures in at 4825mm long, 1930mm wide, and 1656mm tall, with a 2925mm wheelbase.
This makes it slightly larger than the Tesla Model Y and around the same size as the seven-seat Kia Sorento . The 7X is based on the PMA2+ platform, derived from Geely’s Sustainable Experience Architecture, and all models have an 800V electric architecture. The entry-level 7X has an 75kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery which is claimed to be able to gain 500km of range in 15 minutes of charging.
More expensive 7X variants on the other hand have a 100kWh CATL-supplied ternary nickel manganese cobalt (NMC) battery. Zeekr hasn’t released full specifications for the 7X, but it’s expected to offer a single-motor rear-wheel drive powertrain with 310kW, as well as a dual-motor all-wheel drive variant with 475kW. The 7X resembles Zeekr’s 007 sedan, with similar front- and rear-end styling.
