Pune: Yugendra Pawar , nephew of deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar, who sided with granduncle Sharad Pawar when the NCP split, has raised questions about the performance of his uncle in his home constituency of Baramati . Yugendra claimed that corruption and crime have increased in this segment in the recent past. In another Pawar versus Pawar showdown in their home turf of Baramati, Yugendra, son of Ajit Pawar's younger brother Shrinivas, is most likely to be the candidate of Sharad Pawar's party against Ajit Pawar, who has remained undefeated in Baramati.
Reaching out to the people as part of poll preparations, Yugendra carried out a 'Swabhiman' rally in the constituency where he interacted with the people. He said, "During the rally, I came across at least five issues which the people of Baramati face __ corruption, rise in crime, inflation, unemployment, and water-related problems. Crime against women is especially concerning.
" Though Yugendra did not name his uncle, his list raised questions about Ajit Pawar's performance. He is not only the MLA of Baramati but also the guardian minister of Pune district and the deputy chief minister. Yugendra claimed that if the MVA comes to power, it will help NCP (SCP) resolve these issues faster.
"We are preparing a plan of action to address these issues. As an individual and as a party, we will take steps to solve them. We will seek help from some NGOs.
If MVA forms the govt, it will help proactive decisions and find solutions," he a.
