Youths who participated in the two-day KECTIL Regional Youth Conference over the weekend have described the conference as a new learning experience. The two-day conference titled “Kectil PNG: Empowering Youth Leadership for Change,” aims to leverage Kectil’s strengths by convening over 200 passionate young Papua New Guineans alongside established leaders, mentors and changemakers. Youth Participants Peter Mangeu 24 who recently graduated from Divine Word University, Naomi Dubabagi 23 a student who flew in from Divine Word University, Alwin Baiyo 22 a student at the University of Technology who also flew in from Lae to attend the conference, all share their experience with Post courier Online.

Young Peter Mangeu from Manus said being part of the program, has open new opportunities for him, and also given him the confidence to be the voice of youths in his province. “It was an awesome experience, for such a beautiful program that I’ve learned many good topics that are sensitive to the PNG context and the lives of the people. “Also, the knowledge, skills, and experience gained motivates me to raise my hand and be the voice of the vulnerable youths back in my society (Worei) and Manus as a whole, “Mr Mangeu said.

Naomi Dubabagi said the the conference was her first at any level. with what she learned from the conference she will go back and share with youths from her province. “So, I think the first thing, I as a youth want to do, and I’ve spoken to a friend abo.
