One of Bolton’s most valued youth clubs has launched a new partnership to help train up young people and get its new centre up and running. This partnership has been set up between the Daubhill based Be The Change Youth Project and Volunteer It Yourself, which helps youngsters learn from professional tradespeople. They will start by working on Be The Change’s new facilities on Back Deane Church Lane West, which will include a range of facilities for youngsters.

Chief executive officer Daniel Sukula said: “We are extremely excited about this project with VIY funded by Barclays. “This initiative not only helping to get our building renovated but also providing young people from the community an opportunity to learn trade skills and obtain an Entry Level Three City and Guilds accreditation in either health and safety or painting and decorating. Youngsters have been learning new skills (Image: Be The Change) “Having young people involved in this way helps to give them ownership of the centre and it is something they will forever cherish and be proud of.

“We are so grateful for all the support we have been receiving from businesses across England. “Once this centre is completed it will have a huge impact in the local area providing a safe space for young people and the community.''
