The final episode of House of the Dragon season 2 aired last night, and it wouldn’t be a Game of Thrones spin-off without some lingering questions. There were some issues with the pacing of this season, though I’d argue that’s largely because of the way the showrunners have chosen to adapt Fire & Blood, George R. R.

Martin’s rather dry novel upon which the series is based—though I won’t spoil anything, the events that take place during this dance of dragons are shocking and depressing, and I imagine the team behind the series wants to drag this out a bit before breaking our hearts.
