As more Xbox exclusives look set to hit other platforms, all signs suggest Microsoft is reaping the benefits of its new strategy. After Xbox announced Indiana Jones And The Great Circle would arrive on PlayStation 5 next year, just months after it launches on Xbox Series X/S and PC, there’s no doubt that Microsoft is doubling down on its multiplatform strategy. While Microsoft has experimented with putting Xbox exclusives on other platforms for years, the company made a significant push in 2024 by launching four Xbox games across PS5 and Switch, namely Sea Of Thieves , Grounded, Pentiment, and Hi-Fi Rush.

Xbox hasn’t revealed any sales figures for these titles on other platforms, but there’s strong evidence to suggest Sea Of Thieves has perfomed particularly well on PlayStation 5. According to reports, Sea Of Thieves has surpassed one million sales on PlayStation 5 since it launched in late April. This comes from ‘trusted sources’ via Windows Central , with the number said to be ‘most likely’ higher now since the information was received.

This number is particularly strong considering Sea Of Thieves originally came out back in 2018 on the previous Xbox generation. When it launched on Steam in June 2020, it managed to sell over one million copies on the platform after two months, so to hit a similar milestone on PS5 within months four years later is impressive. While this number isn’t official, there are many signs Sea Of Thieves has performed well on PlayStati.
