If you are currently unable to sign in to Xbox Live on an Xbox 360 or through a backwards compatible game on Xbox One or Xbox Series X|S, you're not the only one experiencing this issue. Since the start of the week, we've seen multiple reports from users who are unable to play on their Xbox 360 or backwards compatible 360 games on modern consoles due to what appears to be a somewhat widespread Xbox Live outage . Widespread Xbox 360 sign-in issues reported by players Reports of Xbox 360 sign-in issues seemingly began on Monday, with players reporting on social media and in our forums that an error message pops up when trying to connect to Xbox Live on an Xbox 360 or in a backwards compatible game.
The most common message we're seeing reported reads, "Sorry, there's a problem with the credentials that you're using to sign in," followed by the error codes '8015D086 or '8015D000.' Luckily, it seems Microsoft is aware of the issue. Despite the Xbox Status page stating there are currently no service issues, Reddit users say they've received messages from Xbox Support confirming the outage and that a fix is on the way.
It's currently unclear how long it will take before Microsoft rolls out this fix — the last two major 360 outages occurred in January and April of this year, and both were resolved somewhat quickly once Microsoft was made aware of the service issue. More recently, we saw Xbox Support solve a major Xbox Live outage in just a few hours, so hopefully, we won't have too.
