A Fergus Falls woman made her first Otter Tail County District Court appearance on Oct. 1 after being arrested on multiple charges including felony threats of violence. Sandra Marie Olson, 54, has been charged with two other charges including disorderly conduct and unlawful deposit of garbage.
The court complaint states that on Sept. 29, at approximately 12:21 p.m.
, Fergus Falls police officers responded to a residence on the 400 block of West Vernon Avenue regarding threat allegations. Court records say that officers learned from a neighbor of Olson that the day prior, Olson and two men were in her backyard playing loud music and drinking alcohol. The neighbor had asked Olson to turn down the music.
The court complaint states that eventually Olson and the men went into the garage and closed the door. Later that same day, the neighbor stated she was outside on her deck when Olson started yelling at her calling her an "expletive." When the neighbor asked Olson what her problem was, Olson threw a BBQ lighter at her.
It was at this point the complaint said that the neighbor told her that she would call the police if Olson continued to act the way she was. Olson responded by stating she was going to slit the her throat. When officers were speaking with the neighbor, Olson could be heard yelling from her backyard.
Law enforcement located several items in the neighbors yard including a broken glass beer bottle, a plastic cup, an empty beer box, a beer can and a the lighter. Olson w.
