Meet the woman who has held the record for the world's smallest waist for 24 years. While all body shapes and sizes are beautiful, the hourglass figure remains one of the most sought-after. This shape gained popularity in the 1940s and 1950s when iconic women like Marilyn Monroe began to flaunt their curves.

Today, celebrities and influencers often turn to personal trainers or even cosmetic procedures to get that coveted hourglass shape. However, 86-year-old Cathie Jung isn't ready to give up her corsets just yet. She wears hers for 23 hours a day, only taking it off to bathe.

The US resident has held the Guinness World Record for the smallest waist since she was 62. Cathie was only 18 when she first wore a corset, but by her 30s, she decided to wear one full time, according to the Guinness World Records. Her love for corsets grew alongside her passion for Victorian-style clothing.

Most of her formal attire is custom-made to fit her unique frame, but she does wear some 'off the rack' items on casual days. She explained: "If you're going to wear a Victorian dress and have it look appropriate, you need to wear the right underwear. Once it was time to get a new [corset], it was just natural to get one a little smaller.

It was not any goal of mine to ever get smaller or be smaller; it just was a natural occurrence." The lass originally boasted a 26-inch waist before gradually whittling it down over the years. She's now rocking a slimline 21 inches and claims to kip in her corset .
