Amid the bustling energy of one of Africa’s most vibrant cities, Lagos, a groundbreaking partnership has been forged; it is a union between the visionary artist, Dr. Fola David and Vesti, a leading fintech company dedicated to empowering immigrants. It also aimed to create a monumental artwork that not only sets a world record, but serves as a powerful symbol of unity in Nigeria’s rich tapestry of cultures.

Fola David, a name synonymous with artistic brilliance and cultural advocacy, has long been recognised for his ability to translate the complexity of human emotions and societal themes into visual masterpieces. His latest project, aptly titled, Unity in Diversity, seeks to do more than just break records; it aims to bridge the divide that has often fragmented Nigeria’s social fabric. The project is ambitious in both scope and vision, as David tries to create the largest drawing ever made by an individual, a feat that required not just artistic skill, but immense dedication and a deep connection to the theme.

The final piece, which spans an astonishing 1,050 square metres, shattered the previous Guinness World Record of 629.98 square meters, held by Ravi Soni of India. This colossal artwork is more than just a record-breaking achievement; it is a visual representation of Nigeria’s diverse cultures, intricately woven together in a single, unified canvas.
