It did not take long for the Wisconsin Badgers women's hockey team to look like the dominant offense it boasted a season ago. A mere 28 seconds into its season, UW was off to the power play after the officials sent Lindenwood Lions center Zsofia Pazmandi to the penalty box for tripping. Less than a minute later, Wisconsin winger Laila Edwards teed off on a one-timer from the left dot thanks to a puck sent her way by center Casey O'Brien.

That connection, plus the secondary assist from WCHA Preseason Player of the Year Kirsten Simms, delivered the game-winning goal as the Badgers shut out the Lions 12-0. Javascript is required for you to be able to read premium content. Thanks for the feedback.
