Wine expert gives honest verdict on Idris Elba's £99 Champagne

Tom Gilbey has more than 150,000 followers on TikTok , where he shares videos reviewing all sorts of wine - from cheap Aldi bottles to the really expensive stuff. For a bottle of bubbly to be labelled "Grand Cru", all of the grapes used must come from one of the 17 Grand Cru villages in the Champagne region of France. Tom said Idris' came from the village of Avize. Explaining the difference between this and regular Champagne, Tom said: "Grand Cru Champagne should have a bit more weight, and a bit more elegance, and a bit more finesse than normal Champagne.
