WINCHESTER Cathedral is hosting a range of festive workshops for the Christmas season. Running from November to December, the majority of sessions will take place in the Undercroft, a historic area featuring a vaulted ceiling, stone pillars and a medieval fireplace. The workshops include a variety of activities including candle-making, glass fusing, silversmithing, painting and singing, offering something for everyone to enjoy.

The Christmas singing workshops, led by Jenny Deacon from Sweet Charity Choir, will take place on Monday, November 25 and Monday, December 2 at the Wessex Learning Centre. The sessions promise to teach participants how to sing in three-part harmony with strangers. For those who fancy themselves more of an artist, The Paint Club will be hosting Christmas paint club workshops on Sunday, December 1 at 6pm and Saturday, December 21 at 2pm and 6pm.

These step-by-step sessions are open to all abilities, encouraging even those who haven't painted since school to create their own work of art. The Christmas candle-making workshop, led by Laura Fisher, who was awarded Luxury Homeware & Home Fragrance Brand 2024, will take place on December 3, 10, and 19. The workshop promises to be a "truly enchanting" experience, with participants having the option to keep their handmade candle or gift it to someone special for Christmas.

Alison Smith, founder of Lunar Glass, will lead the Christmas glass fusing workshop on various dates during the Christmas market. Participant.
