Thiruvananthapuram : A 51-year-old woman was hacked with a machete by her husband after he barged into her house for filing a police complaint against him. Lousha of Ashram Veedu at Idathara near Chempazhanthy was seriously injured in the attack. Her daughter, Sreelekshmi, was also hurt in the incident when she tried to protect her mother.
The accused, Jayakumaran Nair, 61, had been living separately following a previous assault on his wife and daughter over a financial dispute, which led Lousha to report him to the women's police cell and the Kazhakkoottam police station.
