United States Delta Air Lines has again deepened its position in Nigeria as it announced plans to expand its capacity to Nigeria with the reintroduction of daily nonstop flights from Lagos to New York-JFK come December. While the airline’s planned increase of flights to Nigeria was aimed at accommodating customers’ demand, the new service will complement Delta’s existing daily flights to Atlanta, enhancing connectivity and providing more options for passengers during the festive season. According to the airline, from December and continuing through February, it will start daily nonstop flights on its New York JFK – Lagos route representing an increase in the number of flights of 133%.
During this period, Delta promised to transition from the Airbus A330-200, which accommodates 223 passengers, to the more spacious Airbus A330-900neo, capable of carrying 281 passengers.
