Set five years after she was last seen, teenage sleuth Pip Fitz-Amobi decides to use her summer holiday to solve the mystery of her disappearance. The missing schoolgirl's boyfriend Sal Singh sent a text confessing to the murder before being found dead himself, seemingly taking his own life. Andie's body was never found, and Pip sets about proving Sal’s innocence.

Using threads that the police failed to pick up, the teen detective solves the mystery of who killed Andie. After many twists and turns it was revealed that it was her own sister, Becca Bell, who murdered the teenager. At first it was thought it was school teacher Elliot Ward who had killed Andie.
