BARBORA Krejcikova had major tennis success in the doubles, before going on to lift singles titles, too. And she's at it again, having made it all the way to the 2024 Wimbledon final , where she faces off against rising star Jasmine Paolini . Barbora Krejcikova was born in Brno in the Czech Republic on December 18, 1995.

She started playing tennis when she was just six years old, climbing the junior rankings right up to world No3 (October 2013). The 28-year-old has gone on to achieve a host of impressive accomplishments throughout her career. These include reaching a world ranking of No1 in doubles (2018), as well as No2 in singles (2022).

Alongside her compatriot Katerina Siniakova, Barbora has enjoyed great success in the ladies' doubles, even winning a career Grand Slam . The duo where champions at the French Open in 2018 and 2021, Wimbledon in 2018 and 2022, and the Australian Open in 2022 and 2023. They completed their career slam at the 2022 US Open , fighting back from a set and a break down to overcome unseeded Americans Caty McNally and Taylor Townsend.

In May 2021, Barbora won her first WTA singles tournament in Strasbourg the day before the French Open began. And the tennis ace continued her winning run by lifting the 2021 French Open title — her first Grand Slam in singles.
