Which US State Capitals Don't Have Any Scheduled Flights?

Before 2023, nine United States state capitals did not have scheduled airline service. However, following the news that Salem-Willamette Valley Airport (SLE, also known as McNary Field) is receiving scheduled service for the first time in 16 years, Simple Flying reached out to the remaining eight capital cities to ascertain their plans for air service. Avelo Airlines began service from the airport to Hollywood Burbank Airport (BUR) and Las Vegas Harry Reid International Airport (LAS) in October 2023 , with the airline scheduling two weekly flights on both routes until at least April 2025, according to data from the aviation analytics company Cirium .

In addition, between May and August, Avelo Airlines ran a service to Charles M. Schulz–Sonoma County Airport (STS). The carrier ended flights on the route due to low demand, according to an earlier report by Salem Reporter .
