Deadpool is back on the big screen this month with the release of Marvel ’s hotly anticipated blockbuster, Deadpool & Wolverine. The superhero epic will see the return of Hugh Jackman as Marvel lynchpin Wolverine, seven years since retiring from the role in James Mangold’s Logan . He stars alongside Ryan Reynolds as foul-mouthed anti-hero Wade Wilson, a masked mercenary with superhuman regenerative abilities.

The characters will grace the big screen together for the first time in the third entry in the Deadpool film series when it lands in cinemas on Thursday (July 25). It is a landmark moment for the Marvel franchise as the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) merges with the former 20th Century Fox Marvel film franchise. The film rights for key Marvel figures like the X-Men and Fantastic Four were previously owned by Fox, meaning the two franchises were very much separate.

Directed by Shawn Levy and also starring Emma Corrin, Morena Baccarin, Rob Delaney and Matthew Macfadyen, Deadpool & Wolverine will see Wade pulled from his quiet life.
