It's strange to say, but Chloe Ayling 's career skyrocketed after her 2017 abduction at the hands of a Polish computer programmer. 20 years old at the time of this public-splitting event, she was a model working in London for the lawyer Phil Green. Following her release from an Italian farmhouse, Ayling spent the rest of the year awaiting brothers Lukasz and Mikal Herba's fate.

Her kidnappers were sentenced to just under 17 years in jail - this verdict was overturned and their time was significantly reduced on appeal in 2021 - and finally their victim could move on with her life. Summer 2018 provided Ayling with her greatest televisual exposure to date, with a place in the Celebrity Big Brother line-up alongside the likes of Love Island's Gabby Allen , ex-footballer Jermaine Pennant , soap stars Roxanne Pallett and Ryan Thomas ; psychic Sally Morgan and Married at First Sight UK's Ben Jardine . Despite Pennant being married to Alice Goodwin back then, he and Ayling engaged in some pretty unsubtle flirtations throughout the series.

He never revealed he had a wife waiting for him on the outside. "I don't think he's mature enough to realise he's doing wrong but hopefully he will learn," Ayling told The Sun following her CBB elimination. During her time in the star-studded house, she also got candid about her kidnapping saga from the year before, offering many watchers a more emotional insight compared to the press coverage.

A memoir titled Kidnapped - The Untold Story of My Abdu.
