Many actor duos in Bollywood have captured the hearts of audiences, whether it was Amitabh Bachchan-Shashi Kapoor or Akshay Kumar-Sunil Shetty. Their films were adored by viewers. Today, we’re going to talk about two such actors who didn’t collaborate for 32 years, but when they reunited on screen, they made a huge impact at the box office.

Their individual starpower was immense in their heyday. The 1991 film we are talking about saw a clash of the titans on screen. If you have not guessed it already, we are talking about the film Saudagar, which starred late stalwarts Dilip Kumar and Raaj Kumar as close friends turned bitter enemies.

Dilip Kumar and Raaj Kumar may no longer be with us, but their legacy remains alive in our hearts. Both legendary actors were renowned for their impactful dialogues. They first teamed up in the 1959 film Paigham, which went on to become the second highest-grossing film of that year.

Paigham was such a big hit at the box office that it was remade in Tamil as Irumbu Thirai. Fans wanted to see DIlip Kumar and Raaj Kumar on screen, but they did not get that chance for 32 years. In 1991, Subhash Ghai finally cast both the stars together in Saudagar, an intense film about how two best friends turn foes.

Dilip Kumar and Raaj Kumar’s on screen camaraderie became the talk of the town and the song Imli Ka Boota picturised on them became an anthem of friendship akin to Yeh Dosti from Sholay. Saudagar also marked the debut of Manisha Koirala and Vivek.
