Launched in 2013, the harris project is the first and only nonprofit dedicated to the prevention and treatment of co-occurring disorders (COD)—the combination of mental health challenges and substance misuse. Through youth education, family support and community engagement, we help individuals and their loved ones recognize the signs of COD and promote integrated care that treats both conditions together. We work with local, state, and federal partners to drive transformation in the current healthcare system, and champion access to integrated treatment and support for people experiencing COD nationwide.
The organization was founded by Stephanie Marquesano , in honor of her son, Harris , who died at age 19 of an accidental overdose. Our goal is to connect as many people as possible with the kind of care and pathway to recovery that Harris deserved. Thank You! You have successfully subscribed.
