Pune: Working president of NCP (SCP) and Baramati MP Supriya Sule slammed the state govt over Thursday's gangrape in Bopdev Ghat . "Mahayuti has no moral right to be in govt. The only solution to improve the law and order situation is better governance.

It is not worth expecting any action from this govt. The time has come to throw Mahayuti out of power," Supriya said. The MP added that she often travels via Bopdev Ghat and was shocked to hear about the gangrape in the ghat section.

"I have a question for the home minister ( Devendra Fadnavis ). What are he and his department doing?" Supriya said in Pune on Friday. The NCP (SCP) leader claimed that the opposition has been raising questions about the deteriorating law and order situation in the state, but women's safety is not on the priority list of the Mahayuti govt.

"It (govt) shows a lot of efficiency in using central agencies like the Income Tax department, CBI and Enforcement Directorate against the opposition parties. That same efficiency is missing while providing security for women. We have been raising the issue for one-and-a-half years but there has been no improvement," she added.

She said that the chief minister and both deputy chief ministers should take responsibility for rising crime, particularly those against women..
