A new Premium Parking area with larger bays will see The Trafford Centre charge for parking for the first time. The move has been made to appeal to affluent shoppers heading to luxury department store Selfridges . For the past few months, the Upper Peel 5 Car Park, next to the entrance of Selfridges, has seen a major transformation.

The work has seen the overall number of car park spaces reduced from 250 to 200, expanding the size of the car parking spaces available. The changes to the spaces have been made to make it easier for 'larger vehicles and family cars' to park in. This is said to reflect the needs of 'premium shoppers' heading to the shopping centre.
