Inflight magazines have long been an integral part of inflight entertainment. But now, with the growth of digital products and virtually everyone having their own devices on planes, they are starting to become a thing of the past. None of the 'Big Three' American carriers have a magazine anymore.

United Airlines Hemispheres United Airlines was the most recent airline to discontinue its inflight magazine, Hemispheres. In August, United announced that the September edition would be the final. The magazine, introduced in 1992, had been available for more than 30 years.

Moving towards a more digital and sustainable world, United made its magazine available digitally. The digital version of Hemispheres will be similar to the print edition. Currently, the Hemispheres portion of the website does not include full monthly editions, but rather, different articles.

United said, "The September issue of Hemispheres will be the last printed issue of our onboard magazine. A preview of our digital edition is now available at united.com/hemispheres, and includes many new and fan-favorite features - including our Three Perfect Days series.

" Translation will soon come to the Hemispheres magazine, which was previously not available while it was still printed. The airline says it will have translation into eight languages. Additionally, accessibility is taken into account, with screen reading and enlarged text.

According to a report from CBS News, the weight magazines added to aircraft was signif.
