But one such incident at a local grocery store has left an Aussie woman with her nose put out of joint after a kind act at the supermarket left her fuming by what happened next. Taking to social media, Jess Jackson declared that she was "scammed in broad daylight" at the local supermarket. The shared how after overhearing the shopper in front of her tell the cashier that she didn't have enough money, she would have no choice but to return some items to their shelves.
"I was at the shops trying to buy some food and the lady in front of me, bless her heart, couldn't afford to pay for her food," Jackson told her followers. "Her card did not get declined, but she is pulling out a card going 'oh not that one' and she turns to the cashier and says 'I'm going to have to put some of these things back, I can't afford it." Jackson thought the encounter was "a bit sad" and looking into the woman's trolley she saw "respectable" food items like milk, bread and fruit and vegetables.
"I thought 'you poor f**ker, you can't afford to eat'," she said. So Jackson kindly pays for the woman's food, saying "it wasn't much". What happened next left the well-m.
