Jaipur: Several recent heists in Jaipur are likely to be solved following the detention of a minor and the arrest of two individuals by the Madhya Pradesh police on charges of stealing a bag containing Rs 1.42 crore in cash from a luxury hotel in Jaipur. The accused are believed to be part of a gang hailing from Rajgarh district in Madhya Pradesh that specialises in stealing bags from wedding venues.

Police officers revealed that the gang’s modus operandi involves going to weddings dressed in expensive clothes to blend in with the crowd. “Their ability to mingle seamlessly with guests at high-profile events has enabled them to execute several successful thefts,” said a police officer. The gang is believed to be responsible for a series of recent heists in Jaipur.

Their method involves targeting luxury weddings held at big hotels and resorts, often aiming for large sums of money and valuable jewellery. “The gang looks to pull off a big heist once every year,” the officer added. Another strategy the gang employs is hiding the stolen goods away until police searches are exhausted, making it difficult for authorities to recover the items quickly.

Police are hopeful that the arrest and detention of these thieves will help solve other cases linked to the gang.
