Looking after your hair can sometimes feel like a chore, but it's important to try especially if you dye your hair. Some hair masks can take several minutes to work, others are designed to be kept on for longer, or even overnight to give the ingredients more time to work. Certain hair masks are designed to do different things, some help with frizz and breakage, others are designed for shine and softness.

Prices can also vary, with more expensive salon brands such as Olaplex or more affordable brands such as L'Oreal. We decided to test a range of different masks from more luxury brands to well known items to see which one worked best. Here's what we found.

Not only can you use it as a rinse-out mask and a conditioner, but you can also use it as a leave-in conditioner. I tried it out all three ways and I must say, for the price, this product is fabulous .

My favourite way to use it is as a conditioner, as I used to feel as though my hair was getting drier with every wash - now it feels super silky after washing which I never thought would be the case. Using it as a leave-in conditioner, I did feel my hair didn't last quite as long between washes but that could.
