The iconic Malayalam serial ‘Kadamattathu Kathanaar’, which captivated audiences with its thrilling tales of a priest capable of defeating spirits, remains a cherished part of Malayalam television history. Prakash Paul, who portrayed the titular character Kathanar, shared insights about his experience on set, particularly regarding his co-star Sukanya, who played Neely. “I don’t like Sukanya as a person.

Many actresses have played Neely but Sukanya was perfect for the role. She is an incredible actress but I don’t like her personally. I’ve always felt this way,” said Paul in an old interview.

“We maintained a strictly professional relationship; she never spoke to me outside of our dialogue in scenes,” he noted. Paul also recounted how he came to play Kathanar. “I was initially called to shoot the title song as a dupe for Kathanar,” he explained.

“It was only four months later that the team decided to cast me in the role after discussions among the crew. I didn’t receive the acknowledgment that a typical actor would. Many viewers thought I was an actual priest sent from the church to portray Kathanar,” he said.
