A Scottish family who moved to Australia and called it quits after a "horrendous" experience have decided to head back. Ruthie Ellis, her husband and three children, packed up their lives in East Lothian and headed over to Sydney back in 2020. But after just 20 months Down Under, the family travelled back to the UK - and were left "divided" by the decision.

They're now giving the move another go, with Ruthie admitting Australia has "so much to offer". The 37-year-old, who is now heading to the Gold Coast with her family, proudly branded herself a "ping pong Pom". Ruthie told Yahoo News Australia: "Australia is wonderful because it’s just so beautiful and there’s lots to see and definitely way more to do than in our little town in Scotland .

" But despite its charm, the mum said Australia being so far away from everything else meant the family were no longer bale to nip to France or Spain as easily and quickly as they could in Scotland. She admitted that there was also "so much of Australia to see" and spoke of her excitement to show the children, with hopes to stay for the foreseeable future this time. The Ellis' first move saw them touch down in Australia to Black Summer bushfires and a global pandemic.

The trip was slightly delayed as Ruthie was 30 weeks pregnant in September 1029 and "too pregnant to fly". It meant the family couldn't make the big move until January 2020, with their house already sold and lives packed up. Ruthie exlained: "When we flew over, we thought .
