He uses a dirty mop bucket that still has a mop inside. Removing the mop, he pours boiled potatoes into the wringer part of the bucket, normally used to squeeze water from mops. The potatoes get mashed as they fall into the bucket.
After scraping out the mashed potatoes with a spoon, he adds butter, salt and milk, then uses a potato masher to blend everything together properly.
