Warwick Castle has today (July 22) opened its new medieval themed hotel. Set in the heart of the castle's 64 acres grounds, with more than 60 medieval inspired rooms, the hotel is great for families and history fans looking for the 'royal treatment'. Guests will be greeted by a 'magnificent' rearing animatronic horse with an epic knight riding on its back in the hotel entrance - and then come face-to-face with talking historic portraits that interact with guests and give a history of Warwick Castle and its grounds.

The new hotel ties in with the castle's surroundings and the exterior of the hotel resembles a medieval hall, with a rough cast render, timber cladding and shingle roof tiles. Each room gives a nod to the Wars of the Roses - with rose motifs, chambers draped in rich coloured fabrics and featuring wooden beams and shields.
