Pune: The Lonikand police are searching for an employee of a private company's warehouse in Wagholi suspected of having stolen 280 laptops worth Rs1.1 crore from the facility between Oct 11 and 14. The theft came to light on Monday, after which the manager (38) of the warehouse, a resident of Kesnand, lodged a complaint with the Lonikand police station.

Senior inspector Pandit Rejitwad of Lonikand police told TOI, "The warehouse was locked on Sunday. On Monday, the company officials opened the warehouse shutters and found all laptops missing. The warehouse was locked from the outside.

" "The company that manages the warehouse stores electronic goods of various companies and manages the supply chain of the electronic goods-producing companies. So, laptops of various brands were stored in the warehouse," Rejitwad said. "The company officials suspect that one of their employees stole these laptops.

The said employee has been working with the warehouse for the last two months. However, it is not yet known how he stole the laptops," he added..
