A product created by Bolton's Warburtons bakery has been shortlisted for a national award. The Baking Industry Awards revealed the 2024 finalists and Warburtons made the running with the company's Gluten Free Soft White Pittas. Hundreds of entries were submitted for the 37th year of The Baking Industry Awards.

The awards described Warburtons as "leading the charge in the gluten-free space” since launching the product in April. The firm says it is part of a three-year plan that aims to listen to customers demands for gluten-free bakery products that are convenient and versatile to all buyers. Chris Hook, director of free from at Warburtons, said: "We are thrilled our Gluten Free Soft White Pittas have been announced as finalists in the 'Free-from Bakery Product of the Year' category at the Baking Industry Awards.

This recognition is a testament to the hard work we’ve put in to create tasty gluten-free alternatives to our core range, so that everyone can enjoy high-quality bakery products, regardless of their dietary restrictions.” “Gluten free shoppers shouldn’t have to compromise on quality and taste, and our Warburtons Gluten Free range delivers on both. Since launching this spring, the positive response from customers and industry peers alike has been overwhelming – with many enjoying it as the perfect BBQ accompaniment or a quick and convenient on-the-go lunch.

Thank you to the Baking Industry Awards for this honour, and good luck to all the finalists." Categor.
