Cranfield University of Cranfield, Bedfordshire, is seeking volunteers to help with a research project to analyze aircraft evacuation . The university, known for public research, has partnered with the University of Greenwich, to run a series of evacuation trials next month. Looking at the decisions passengers make when evacuating an aircraft In February, these two universities are partnering up to run a series of evacuation trials throughout February to understand the decisions that passengers make when they're required to evacuate a large, blended-wing body aircraft (a fixed-wing aircraft with no clear line that divides the wings and main body of the aircraft).

The BWB concept is different from the majority of aircraft we see in commercial operations today, which are essentially tubes with two wings. The participants will be some of the first to experience these aircraft designs in what could be the future of aviation. Throughout the study, this will help improve understanding of airplane evacuations and provide valuable information about how passengers could behave in an emergency in these new concept aircraft.

Around 1,500 volunteers are needed, and anyone between the ages of 18 and 65 can take part. Cabin layout and door placement are carefully considered to help you evacuate an aircraft quickly.
