Prayagraj: Working with the Yogi govt’s determination to organise a divine, magnificent, and eco-friendly ambiance for the forthcoming Maha Kumbh-2025, the district administration is diligently implementing the action plan for the Kumbh area. The administration is also focusing on widening the roads within the city limits and beyond the Kumbh vicinity, along with revamping the city walls and squares. The beautification of the walls and major crossings of the Sangam city will be executed at an estimated cost of Rs 60 crore.

The action plan is also being executed to provide the devotees and tourists visiting the Maha Kumbh with an immersive experience of religion and spirituality in the city, extending beyond the Kumbh area and the budget for the same has been sanctioned. The Prayagraj Development Authority (PDA) has allocated a distinct budget to impart a grand and rejuvenated appearance to the city walls and squares. As per PDA vice-chairman Arvind Chauhan, a budget of Rs 60 crore has been earmarked for the city’s beautification.

This comprehensive scheme encompasses street art on the primary walls of the city, murals at the intersections, traffic signages, sculptures, landscaping, green belts, and horticulture work. The identity of the city, its religion, spirituality, and culture will be brought to life by depicting various symbols on the city walls through paintings. PDA chief engineer Ashutosh Srivastava said that such wall paintings will cover an area of 10 lakh squa.
