Walkers enjoyed a hike in one of the region's most picturesque places and raised £7,000 for a local charity. Walkers gathered at Rivington Blackrod High School to embark on the 'Fortalice Fells Walk'. This event - now in its third year - raised a total of £7,216 for Fortalice , a charity dedicated to supporting victims of domestic abuse in Bolton .
The day began with entertainment provided by Bolton FM and the Horwich Community Choir, followed by an invigorating Zumba session. The mayor and mayoress of Bolton greeted walkers on their return (Image: Fortalice) Marching to the beat of drummers who guided them to the starting line, 80 walkers embarked on a 9k trek. Their route took them over the apex of Winter Hill and then to Rivington Pike.

Grace Wood, Fortalice's fundraising manager, said: "We really appreciate everyone’s dedication in raising much-needed funds for Fortalice and challenging themselves to take part. "Huge thanks to all of the organisations involved in helping this be a safe successful event." Fortalice is a charity that provides frontline services for people who are or have been aff.
